We were recommended Skills Unlimited (Peter) though a satisfied customer in 2015.  Peter provided a building report on a house we purchased and also did some smaller jobs at our house before we engaged for Skills Unlimited for a major extension to a property with a heritage overlay.  

Fast forward to 2019 and we have now completed the extension and it was an absolute dream and all made possible through Peter and his teams professional conduct and dedication to the job.  From the design phase though the completion, Peter, Louis and all the tradesman were nothing less than outstanding!  Everything from the workmanship to the communication and the respect for us as a family was impeccable.  The attention to detail of the finished product is stunning and Peter is now a friend not just our builder.

I recently purchased a 6x4m backyard kit workshop/studio and was introduced to builder Peter Schmeidel from Skills Unlimited as the installer.  It's always a daunting prospect hiring tradies, but I have to say Peter was fabulous to deal with right off the bat - always very prompt in replying to my many questions, turned up on time (and I'd have a short chat with him and son Louis over a coffee) and then they'd get to work and the build was done in no time! Him and Louis are a great team - and Dudley, the adorable canine 'supervisor' was also a pleasure to have around. Nice one, guys - you'll be my first choice for my next grand project!

When we met Peter, we were quite new to the building world.  He guided us all the way, offering advice, solutions and cost savings.  The project was on a tight time schedule, and Peter managed the build brilliantly.  Nothing was too much trouble.

When we sold the house, both the agent and two of the potential buyers commented on the extremely high quality of the workmanship throughout the house.  This is a credit to Peter, his team and his contractors.

Jackie and I have known Peter and his crew for over ten years now and throughout that time have engaged them on numerous projects at our home in Williamstown. Peter Schmiedel and his team from Skills Unlimited Services were an integral part of the refurbishment that we undertook in 2013.

The Hotel renovation was complicated and continuously evolving due to the structural defects associated with the age of the building and the previous works carried out in the long existence of the historical site.

Peter provided an expert team of extremely professional and efficient trades people that worked to budget and adapted to the ever changing needs of the refurbishment.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Peter for any commercial or domestic projects. He has proven to be extremely competent, conscientious and trustworthy.

I have known Peter Schmiedel since early 1995 when he was recommended to me by an architect I was using to design an extension to our house.

Peter won the job to complete our extension, mainly because he convinced us of his ability to complete a full job, and to manage the job in its entirety. After meeting with him once or twice, we resolved to virtually sack the architect involved and for Peter to treat the designs as draft working drawings as there were many basic aspects to them that the architect had not considered, (for example guttering levels being out of synch, wasted space and so on.)

We were very pleased with the final result and Peter's management of the project, as it enabled us to have the job done on time, within budget and with more thought than the
original spec, without us having to spend unnecessary time worrying about supervising subcontractors etc.

Since then Peter has completed two more small commercial projects for us at our art gallery - removing some walls, and a refit to a small commercial kitchen area. Both were done smoothly with minimal interruptions to day to day business, and structured to fit in with our timetable.

In short I would unhesitatingly recommend Peter Schmiedel on a personal basis, and his company as a whole, as a professional, organised, competent builder - project manager. He is dedicated to his job and his clients, and ensures that the inevitable hassles of a project are fixed, quickly, smoothly and with the minimum level of necessary consultation.

Peter Schmiedel and his company Skills Unlimited Services have undertaken two substantial building projects for me. The first being renovations and construction of a garage and gym at our heritage listed home.

The second being various restoration works of our 1850’s home, “D’Estaville“.

Peter and his team of trades carried out an excellent job, I cannot fault his attention to detail and the quality of his work.

Moreover Peter is a person who can be trusted and I cannot recommend him high enough.
